2. Binding problem

Products that can be printed by digital printing include books, brochures, tenders, calendars, etc. Therefore, the commonly used binding methods include wireless glue binding, saddle stitching, stitch binding, wire binding, spiral binding, and circle binding. But it should be noted that you must decide which binding method to use before you start the printing job, instead of blindly waiting for the printing to finish before considering which method to bind. Because different binding methods (such as perfect binding and saddle stitching) have different requirements in the page arrangement of the prepress typesetting stage. Deciding which binding method to use should be based on the customer's requirements, the characteristics of the paper used, the direction of the paper strands, and the final use of the printed product.

Before binding, printed products generally need to be folded. When the basis weight of the printed paper exceeds 120g, pressing the creases before folding can make the folding easier, the folded printed sheets will be flatter and the effect will be more beautiful. In fact, no matter what kind of paper, if you press the crease before folding, you can get good results. The creasing can be done on a special creasing machine. This machine has a desktop machine and a larger creasing and punching type.

If there is a creasing mold, the creasing work can also be done on a flat press. In addition, some folding machines have the function of creasing. The cracks in the printed image after creasing or folding may be caused by the drying of the paper, and the higher the basis weight, the more likely to have this failure. Therefore, to avoid cracks, the paper should be kept at a proper humidity and not too dry. In addition, when folding the paper along the direction of the paper strands, you can also avoid breakage at the crease.

If it is a processed book, when digital printing is performed, the thread direction of the paper should be parallel to the direction of the spine of the finished book. Of course, coating the printed paper can also avoid cracks in the printed product's folding. It should also be noted that the depth of the indentation should be moderate when indenting. If an indenter is used, the speed should not be too fast.
