Coated paper, also known as coated printing paper, is called powder paper in Hong Kong and other regions. It is a high-quality printing paper made ofbase paper coated with white paint. Mainly used for printing the covers and illustrations of high-end books and periodicals, color pictures, various exquisite product advertisements, samples, product packaging, trademarks, etc. Generally, coated paper is used for rich colors and complex patterns.

Common classification: coated paper is divided into single-sided coated paper, double-sided coated paper, matte coated paper, and cloth coated coated paper. According to the quality, it is divided into A, B, C.

Common weight: The gram of coated paper is .70, 80, 105, 128, 157, 180, 200, 230, 250, 300, 400, 450, etc.

Advantages: the color is very bright, the paper is very color-absorbing, the color reproduction is high, it is mostly used for photos, landscapes, and some colorful postcards. It can be laminated, and it will feel more hand-feel after laminating. The original paper material is very smooth and very smooth. 

Disadvantages: The handwriting should not be dry, because it is too smooth, so things written with pens and fountain pens (gel pens) are easily erased, and the postmarks and seals that are changed will also be erased immediately. Compared with the same gram of paper, the hardness is in the middle, not hard. The price is low. In fact, it is the thicker version of the leaflets and advertisements (usually 85-100g) issued on the street (postcards are usually about 300g), which is easy to roll in the south wind and is not resistant to moisture.

Matte paper, the official name is matte coated paper. When viewed under sunlight, it is less reflective than coated paper. Generally, matte paper is thinner and whiter than copper plate, more ink-resistant, and harder, unlike copper plate paper that is easy to deform.

Common uses: high-end product albums, products showing elegant and simple styles (such as instruments, calligraphy and painting, antiques, etc.) or magazines with photos or illustrations, portfolios, etc., do not pay attention to showing bright effects.

Common weight: There are 105, 128, 157, 200, 250, 300 grams of matte paper.

Advantages: easy to color. The front is equivalent to the jam. The price is low.

Disadvantages: very soft. 300g matte paper is as hard as 250g cardboard. I don't think it is suitable for postcards. No thick paper jam, no beautiful color on coated paper.
